Parents and Guardians can log same day absences for their children using the Arbor Parent Portal and Arbor App. To do this, they need to access the Attendance section, select log absence and input the absence details, and submit the request. 

Parents and Guardians may find this an easier and quicker way to let us know about their child’s absence, but we will still be happy to accept notifications by email to attendance@haz5d.com, voicemail to 01908 555633 or by telephone 01908 555620.  

Please log your child is absent each day. For all student absences (Year 7-Year 13) 

Please leave a message on the answer machine before 08:00. Please note, all calls to the Academy are recorded. Notifications of absence are saved to students' Arbor files.

Please indicate the following:

• Student's name;
• Tutor group;
• Reason for absence;
• Expected date of return;
• The name of the person reporting the absence.

All attendance requests will be reviewed by our attendance officer and your child's attendance records will be updated. It may be judged that their attendance is unauthorised. Any questions regarding this, please email attendance@haz5d.com. 

 

Planned absences e.g. family funerals, legal hearings, interviews, medical meetings

The parent/carer should contact the school via the 24-hour absence reporting line 01908 555633 or email attendance@haz5d.com, please indicate the following:

• Student's name;
• Tutor group;
• Dates affected;
• Reason for absence;
• The name of the person reporting the absence.
