Core Learning

Throughout Year 7 and 8, we collect data on students' attitudes towards learning. This is not linked to academic performance but reflects their effort and behaviour in lessons.

For instance, a child may have weaker academic performance but still exhibit outstanding effort. Over two years, we will average these grades. If they achieve an average grade of good or excellent over time, they will achieve this element of the award.

Personal Development

This section encompasses all activities students are involved in beyond the classroom and outside of school. Students record these in their passports or discussed them with their form tutors, including activities like after-school clubs, sports fixtures, or volunteering.

This strand may take the full two years to complete.

Here is a copy of the Personal Development Passport in student planners.

Project Based Learning

Over Years 7 and 8, learners are required to complete two five-week Ambition projects and an independent project on a topic of their choice.

They will be briefed in school, but will be expected to work on projects outside normal school hours. They can also work on their projects in Hazeley Homework clubs.
